Tent Selection and Sizing
A 60x60x140 cm tent fits 4 to 6 fruiting blocks comfortably. Use a tent with multiple vent ports for airflow control. Mylar interiors reflect light and help maintain humidity.
Environment Control
Use an ultrasonic humidifier connected to a humidity controller. Set airflow with a small inline fan on a timer. 4 to 6 air exchanges per hour is standard for most gourmet species. Keep temperature between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius.
Substrate Management
Prepare substrate outside the tent. Only introduce fully colonized blocks. Remove spent blocks promptly to prevent contamination. Mist walls, not blocks directly.
Tent Setup Checklist
Tent assembled and all ports sealed or filtered
Humidifier connected to humidity controller
Inline fan sized for tent volume
Thermometer and hygrometer installed
Light on timer (12 hours on for fruiting cue)
Drainage tray or liner in place
Contamination is the main challenge in a grow tent. Maintain clean habits when entering the tent: wash hands, work quickly, and never sneeze or cough near fruiting blocks.
