Art. 16 Enforcement
The Federal Council shall regulate the enforcement of this Act. It shall take into account, as necessary, the provisions of the European Union and the recommendations and standards of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) on identity documents.
Art. 16 — Amended by Art. 2 No 1 of the Federal Act of 13 June 2008 on the Approval and Implementation of the Exchange of Notes between Switzerland and the EC on Biometric Passports and Travel Documents, in force since 1 March 2010 (AS 2009 5521; BBl 2007 5159).
Art. 17 Referendum and commencement
1 This Act is subject to an optional referendum. 2 The Federal Council shall determine the commencement date. Commencement date: 1 October 2002
