Art. 59
1 The Federal Office may operate information and documentation systems in order to carry out procedures under this Act electronically. 2 When procedures are carried out electronically, the authenticity and integrity of the transmitted data must be ensured. 3 The Federal Office may grant the following bodies and persons access to the information and documentation systems: a. Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS): b. the cantonal authorities responsible for enforcement; c. persons subject to authorisation or notification requirements; d. the other bodies and persons designated by the Federal Council, insofar as this is necessary for the fulfilment of tasks and duties under this Act. 4 The bodies and persons referred to in paragraph 3 may retrieve personal data from the information and documentation systems and process them insofar as this is necessary for the fulfilment of their tasks and duties under this Act.
