Art. 23 Transitional provisions
1 The transitional provisions on certificates in accordance with Articles 7–12 shall be enacted by the competent Federal Department. 2 Exemptions granted under the Substances Ordinance of 9 June 1986 remain valid for the period originally specified. 3 Applications for exemptions which are pending when this Ordinance comes into force shall be assessed according to this Ordinance.

Art. 23a Transitional provisions to the Amendment of 16 November 2022
1 Holders of a licence to use plant protection products that was granted in accordance with the provisions of the former Article 8 paragraphs 1, 3 or 4 that were valid until 31 December 2025 may apply to the FOEN by 30 June 2026 for the licence to be replaced. 2 Where an application has been submitted in respect of licences granted under the previous law by 30 June 2026, the licences shall be replaced by a certificate valid for five years, which shall be recorded in the Register of PPP Certificates in accordance with Article 1 of the Ordinance of 16 November 2022 on the Register of Certificates for the Use of Plant Protection Products. 3 Holders of a licence acquired before 1 January 2000 must successfully complete all the continuing education and training courses required in accordance with Article 9 paragraph 3 by 31 December 2029. 4 Licences granted under the previous law expire on 1 January 2027.

Art. 24 Commencement
This Ordinance comes into force on 1 August 2005.
