All parts are available online or at a hardware store. Total cost is approximately 60 to 80 dollars depending on sourcing. The Arduino and motor driver are reusable for future projects.

Two pine boards 30cm x 10cm x 2cm (any straight-grained wood works)
The 28BYJ-48 motor makes 2048 steps per revolution. At the correct step interval in the Arduino sketch, it turns the rod at precisely the sidereal rate.
