The Mont Blanc Circuit
The Tour du Mont Blanc is one of the most famous long distance hikes in the world, a roughly 170 km loop that circles the Mont Blanc massif across France, Italy and Switzerland. This slate captures one section of the full circuit, winding through alpine meadows and high passes with the massif as a constant backdrop. Hikers traditionally complete the loop over 10 to 12 days, staying in mountain refuges along the way.
Best hiked from late June to mid September when the high passes are clear of snow, and book refuges months in advance since beds sell out fast in July and August.
