Register at the finca and pay the $5 entry. The trail drops into cloud forest within minutes. The pipeline appears underfoot.
The pipeline is completely overgrown with moss. The forest is dense and humid. Listen for the resplendent quetzal in the canopy.
A 1000-year-old tree beside the trail. Its trunk is wider than a doorway. The forest is cathedral-quiet here.
The hidden waterfall drops into a narrow pool. Tall and thin. The mist hits you before you see it.
The trailhead is in the Bajo Mono area, 20 minutes north of Boquete by collectivo or taxi. The concrete bridge over the stream marks the start. Entry fee is $5.
Resplendent quetzals are frequently spotted here between February and August. Early morning gives the best chance. The pipeline section is the prime quetzal zone.
