Pennine Way
Britain's original long distance footpath rolls roughly 430 km along the spine of England, from Edale in the Peak District up to Kirk Yetholm on the Scottish border. This slate captures one section of the iconic Pennine Way, crossing the wild moors and limestone country of the northern Pennines.
Best tackled May to early September when daylight is long and bogs are drier; expect exposed weather on the high moors and book Pennine Way bunk barns and YHA hostels well in advance.
