Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair
A 65 km, six day trek through the heart of Tasmania's Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair National Park, crossing alpine moors, glacial tarns, eucalypt forest and button grass plains. This section captures the central leg of Australia's most celebrated multi day wilderness walk.
Between October and May a paid permit and one way north to south travel are mandatory, so book through the Tasmania Parks system months ahead and pack for snow, rain and sun even in midsummer.
