Lemosho to Uhuru
The Lemosho Route crosses Kilimanjaro from the quieter western side, traversing rainforest, the Shira Plateau and the Barranco Wall before summiting Uhuru Peak at 5895m, the roof of Africa. Its 7 to 8 day profile gives the body real time to acclimatise, which is why it holds the highest summit success rate of any route.
Kilimanjaro must be climbed with a licensed Tanzanian operator, and the prime windows are January to mid March and June to October when the upper mountain is driest. Pay for the eight day variant if your budget allows, the extra acclimatisation day before summit night materially improves your odds.
