Drying the Mushrooms
Dry fresh or rehydrated mushrooms at 50 degrees Celsius in a food dehydrator until completely dry and brittle. Lion's mane, reishi, and turkey tail all dry well. Moisture content must be below 10 percent before grinding.
Grinding to Powder
Use a high-powered blender or dedicated herb grinder. Grind in short bursts to avoid heat buildup. Sift through a fine mesh strainer for uniform particle size. Store powder in airtight jars with desiccant until ready to encapsulate.
Encapsulation Process
Use a size 00 or size 0 capsule machine with vegetable capsules. Fill the tray, spread powder evenly, tamp lightly, and cap. Store finished capsules in a dark, cool location in an airtight container.

Blending multiple species into a single capsule is common. A 1:1:1 ratio of lion's mane, reishi, and turkey tail powder is a popular starting blend. Keep records of your batches including source, extraction method, and dose.
