The 2026 Season So Far
2026-03-01 | Round 1, Bahrain. Hamilton wins the season opener for Ferrari on his return. Antonelli qualifies on pole but finishes second.
2026-04-01 | China through Japan. Antonelli wins three consecutive races from pole. He becomes the youngest driver to lead the championship in F1 history.
2026-05-01 | Miami. Pole and win for Antonelli. His fourth win from five starts. Hamilton and Russell chase. McLaren nowhere yet.
2026-05-01 | Monaco Grand Slam. Antonelli wins from pole, sets fastest lap, leads every lap. The youngest Monaco winner since Senna in 1987.
2026-06-01 | Canada. Antonelli wins again. Six wins from nine starts at this point. Mechanical DNFs at Barcelona and Britain keep the championship tight.
2026-07-01 | Hungary. Norris wins for McLaren, their first win of 2026. Upgrades work. Hamilton gets a five-second penalty, drops from P4 to P5. Ferrari frustrated.
2026-08-01 | Summer break ends. Verstappen signs a Red Bull extension to 2030, ending months of speculation linking him to McLaren and Mercedes.

Verstappen's last home race. Zandvoort exits the F1 calendar after 2026. The circuit did not renew its contract, citing rising costs. This is the last Dutch Grand Prix for the foreseeable future. Verstappen posted "For my last home race" on social media, sparking retirement talk, but the phrase referred to Zandvoort leaving the calendar. He has zero wins in 2026 but four podiums, calling the RB22 "a disaster" due to aerodynamic degradation under the new power unit regulations.

Kimi Antonelli turns 20 on August 25, two days after the Dutch Grand Prix. A win at Zandvoort would give him seven victories from twelve starts in his debut season, and he would celebrate his birthday as the youngest world championship leader in F1 history. His season has included two mechanical DNFs neither caused by driver error, which is all that keeps Hamilton within fighting distance.
