Comet has worked these hills for a decade and knows the trails better than any of us. She is a steady, generous ride with one firm rule: she decides when a gate is safe to approach. This page is her handover for a sitter or relief groom. Learn the yard, follow the routine, respect the gates, and she will look after you as much as you look after her.

:CHECKLIST
Daily routine
[ ] 7:00 am: check the trough is full and unfrozen, then turn out to the top paddock
[ ] 7:15 am: morning feed, one scoop of chaff plus a scoop of balancer, no hard feed before work
[ ] Match her rug to the weather. She overheats fast, so err lighter than you think
[ ] Pick out all four feet, check for stones and that her shoes are tight
[ ] Midday: if she is stabled, top up the hay net, minimum two sections
[ ] 5:00 pm: evening feed, chaff, balancer, and her joint supplement from the labelled scoop
[ ] Skip out the box and refill water before the last check at 9:00 pm
