The Wanaka Viewpoint
Roys Peak is the climb behind the most shared photograph in New Zealand, a narrow grassy spur with Lake Wanaka spread out below and Mount Aspiring on the skyline. The track is honest work, a steady unbroken climb across open sheep country with almost no shade, gaining over 1200 metres. The famous viewpoint sits below the true summit, where a queue often forms for the shot.
