The Ridge Above Romsdalen
Romsdalseggen is one of the great ridge walks of Norway, a high traverse that finishes above the small town of Andalsnes with the Rauma river winding through the valley a kilometre below. Across the gorge stands the Trollveggen, the highest vertical rock face in Europe. The route runs the airy crest then drops by the Romsdalstrappa stone stairway built into the final descent.

A shuttle bus runs from Andalsnes to the Vengedalen start so you can walk the ridge one way back to town.

There is a short exposed scramble on the ridge with a chain. The descent is long and steep on the knees. Save it for clear weather.
