The first day climbs the Mizane valley past a small shrine to a refuge at 3200 metres. The summit push starts before dawn up scree and snow to a barren ridge at 4167 metres, with the Atlas rolling away in every direction and the Sahara haze to the south. :NOTE.half Most climbers hire a local mountain guide and a mule from Imlil and stay at the Toubkal refuge before the dawn summit push. | :NOTE.half In winter and spring the summit cone holds snow and ice and needs crampons and an axe. Even in summer the altitude bites, ascend slowly. :LINK https://www.visitmorocco.com/en/travel/toubkal-national-park Toubkal park info
