At the top a stark high plateau opens out around the Daubensee, a lake that lies frozen well into summer in a landscape closer to the Arctic than the Alps. The walk to Sunnbüel is gentle and otherworldly. :STATS :NOTE Cable cars run at both ends, from Leukerbad up to the Gemmi and from Sunnbüel down to Kandersteg. The plateau holds snow late, so check conditions before June. :LINK https://www.gemmi.ch/en/ Gemmi cable car
