Under Cradle Mountain
The Dove Lake circuit is the gentle way to stand beneath one of Tasmania's most famous peaks, the dolerite crags of Cradle Mountain reflected in a dark glacial lake. The loop runs entirely on boardwalk and good track, through ancient cool rainforest at the Ballroom Forest and past the old boatshed that fronts every postcard of the park. The weather here turns on a coin, even in summer.


:NOTE
Private cars are limited in the park, take the shuttle bus from the visitor centre to Dove Lake. Carry a windproof layer whatever the forecast.
