The Mirror of the Oberland
Bachalpsee is the lake every photographer in Grindelwald is chasing, a still pool at 2265 metres that throws back a perfect reflection of the Schreckhorn and Finsteraarhorn on a calm morning. The path from First is almost flat, a broad high trail that makes the view feel unearned. Come early, before the wind picks up and the surface breaks, for the postcard.

:NOTE
The First gondola climbs from Grindelwald in around 25 minutes. For the cleanest reflection arrive before mid morning while the lake is still glass.
