Wading the Slot
A slot canyon hike where the trail is the Virgin River itself, walled in by 300 metre sandstone cliffs that close to just a few metres wide. Most visitors do the bottom up day hike from the Temple of Sinawava, while a top down through hike requires a wilderness permit.


:NOTE
Check the flash flood forecast every single morning, since the canyon is a death trap when storms hit the plateau above. Rent neoprene socks, canyoneering boots, and a sturdy stick from a Springdale outfitter, and skip the hike entirely during spring snowmelt.
