Mount Kinabalu Summit
Borneo's granite giant in Sabah, rising 4,095 metres above the rainforest and climbed by the Timpohon Gate route to the bare summit plateau of Low's Peak. It is the highest mountain in Southeast Asia between the Himalaya and New Guinea, and the dawn from the top, with Borneo's cloud forest spreading below, is the trip's reward.


:NOTE
A climb permit, a licensed guide and an overnight bunk at Laban Rata are all mandatory and must be booked months in advance via Sutera Sanctuary Lodges. Daily numbers are capped, so secure your slot before flying to Kota Kinabalu, and aim for the drier February to April window for the best summit odds.
