Desert Ridgeline Through the Centre
One section of the 223 km Larapinta Trail, the iconic 12 to 16 day desert traverse that follows the rugged West MacDonnell Ranges west from Alice Springs. Expect red quartzite ridges, hidden gorges, ghost gum country and some of the darkest night skies in Australia.

Walk in the cooler May to August window, register your trip with the NT Parks online system, and carry far more water than you think you need as tanks at trailheads can run dry.
