The Cables Climb
Yosemite's iconic granite dome, where the final 120 metres are climbed by hauling yourself up two steel cables bolted into bare rock. The OSM data shown here is one section of the full route, which runs roughly 26 km round trip from Happy Isles with around 1500 m of gain.


:NOTE
A wilderness permit is required and is distributed by lottery, with cables up only from late May to mid October. Start before dawn, carry four litres of water, and turn back if afternoon thunderstorms build.
