The Losers Return
Stephen King's 1986 novel alternates between 1958 and 1985 in the small Maine town of Derry, where children are being murdered with systematic regularity. King has said It is the book he considers his magnum opus, an attempt to finish his exploration of childhood and monsters begun in earlier novels. He wrote the bulk of it in a creative period he later remembered only partially due to substance use.
