With nearly a thousand years of betrayal and bloodshed behind its walls, it is often called one of the most haunted sites in Britain. Guards, staff and visitors have reported the same figures for generations.

Edward V and his brother Richard vanish in the Tower. Two small skeletons are later found beneath a White Tower staircase.
Henry VIII's second queen is executed on Tower Green and buried in the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula.
A soldier is reported to have challenged a headless figure near the queen's lodgings and collapsed in fright.
Yeoman Warders and visitors continue to report cold spots, footsteps and fleeting figures.
