The Queen of the Mountains
Rigi has been a viewpoint since the age of grand tourism, the first mountain in Europe to get a cog railway, and Mark Twain walked it long before. The panorama trail traverses the high meadows from the summit down toward Kaltbad, with Lake Lucerne, Lake Zug and a dozen others scattered below and the snow peaks of central Switzerland filling the south. The walking is easy, the view enormous.
