Facing the Big Three
The North Face Trail is a gentle balcony loop above Mürren, the car free terrace village perched on a shelf high over the Lauterbrunnen valley. The whole walk faces the great north walls of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau across the gorge, with panels telling the story of the climbers who first took them on. Alp dairies along the way serve fresh cheese and milk.
Mürren is reached by cable car and mountain railway from Lauterbrunnen or Stechelberg. The funicular up to Allmendhubel gives the trail its high start.
