In 1957 Yves Klein perfected a blue. Not a painting. A blue. He suspended pure ultramarine pigment in a clear synthetic resin so the powder kept its full depth instead of dulling under oil. The result swallows light. Stand in front of it long enough and the edges of the canvas disappear and there is only the colour, going on without you.
