Pyrenees Coast to Coast
The GR10 is the great French Pyrenean traverse, running roughly 860 km from Hendaye on the Atlantic to Banyuls sur Mer on the Mediterranean. It crosses the entire range along its French flank, climbing through Basque green hills, dramatic limestone cirques, granite high country and Catalan vineyards in turn. This slate captures one section of the full route, which thru hikers typically complete over seven to nine weeks.
June to September is the realistic window for the high central sections, and the trail has a strong network of gites and refuges so most walkers carry only light gear and resupply along the way.
