The Television Academy revealed the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards nominees this morning, with The Pitt leading all contenders on 25 nominations and Hacks setting a new comedy record on 24. The ceremony takes place September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, hosted by Mariska Hargitay and broadcast on NBC and Peacock.

Best Drama Series nominees
The Pitt leads the drama field with 25 nominations total. Joining it in the Best Drama Series race are Pluribus (HBO), Slow Horses (Apple TV), The Diplomat (Netflix), Paradise (Hulu), and a strong field that marks one of the most competitive drama categories in years. Last year the award went to The Pitt at its debut ceremony.
Best Comedy Series nominees
Hacks earned a record 24 nominations in its final season, making it the most nominated comedy in a single year. The full comedy field includes Abbott Elementary (ABC), The Bear (FX), Only Murders in the Building (Hulu), Shrinking (Apple TV), Margo's Got Money Troubles, Widow's Bay, and Nobody Wants This.
Best Limited Series and acting nominees
The limited or anthology field features All Her Fault (Netflix), The Beast in Me (HBO), Beef (Netflix), DTF (Peacock), and St. Louis Love Story. In acting, Best Comedy Actor nominees include Steve Carell (Rooster), Jason Segel (Shrinking), Martin Short (Only Murders), and Matthew Rhys (Widow's Bay). Best Comedy Actress features Ayo Edebiri (The Bear), Jean Smart (Hacks), and Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary).
The Pitt led all contenders with 25 nominations, a record count for an ER drama that debuted to huge streaming numbers on Max.
Hacks earned 24 nominations in its final season, a record for a comedy series in any single Emmy year. Jean Smart leads a stacked cast.
