Along the Knife Edge
This is the Alpstein traverse that fits in a single day and shows the range from the inside. The cable car lifts you to Ebenalp, then the path threads through the Wildkirchli caves and past a chapel built into the cliff face. From the Schäfler ridge the limestone teeth of the massif fall away on both sides with Santis filling the sky ahead. The descent drops to Seealpsee and out at Wasserauen.
