Eight Albums. One No. 1 Already. Zero Features.
Ariana Grande returns on July 31, 2026 with petal, her eighth studio album, released through her own Babydoll Music imprint and Republic Records. Executive produced by Grande and longtime collaborator Ilya Salmanzadeh, the record contains 12 tracks with no featured artists, marking her most solo effort to date. Lead single "hate that i made you love me" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on release, becoming her 10th career chart-topper and her eighth song to debut directly atop the chart. The album arrives mid-tour: the Eternal Sunshine Tour runs from June 8 in Oakland through September 1 in London, meaning Grande will perform petal material for months before most people have even heard the record.

What the Album Is Actually About
Grande described petal as being about "growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging." In a 2025 Vogue interview she spoke about seeing herself as "a flower that continues to grow with new petals, leaves, buds" while still learning to nurture herself. The black and white artwork, a close-up of Grande smiling as her hair falls across her face, is her first monochrome era since 2016's Dangerous Woman period. The co-write and production credit sits almost entirely with Ilya, the Swedish producer behind Sweetener, thank u next, and Positions, marking the longest continuous creative partnership of her recording career. Max Martin joined for the lead single only.
Grande has now debuted eight songs directly at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, placing her second all-time on that specific metric behind only Taylor Swift. "hate that i made you love me" also spent more than 10 consecutive days at the top of the Spotify Daily Global Chart.
The Eternal Sunshine Tour opened June 8 in Oakland and wraps September 1 in London. Fans attending shows in July will hear petal tracks performed before the album is released. An exclusive vinyl pressing called "Cloudy Gray Girl" is available only through her official store.
